WTF President Chungwon Choue is attending the 2009 IF Forum in Lausanne, Switzerland, which drew about 250 delegates from 31 of the summer and winter Olympic federations.
The third edition of the annual IF Forum, which takes place at the Lausanne Movenpick Hotel on Nov. 16-18, focuses on two main themes of revenue generation, and youth and sport.
During the opening ceremony of the event, IOC President Jacques Rogge made a speech, with welcome addresses by Hein Verbruggen, president of Sportaccord, the umbrella body for the International Sport Federations, and Denis Oswald, president of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations.
During the ceremony, WTF President Chungwon Choue met with IOC President Rogge. The two are scheduled to meet again on Nov. 18.
WTF President Choue arrived in Lausanne to attend the IF Forum from his visit to Mexico City, Mexico for the World Taekwondo Tour 2009 Mexico on Nov. 14, 2009. The inaugural World Taekwondo Tour, the prelude to a professional taekwondo competition, was a resounding success, which drew 16 world-class athletes, mostly Olympic and world championship medalists.
Attending the IF Forum are representatives from the International Golf Federation and the International Rugby Board, whose sports were newly included in the official program of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Breakout workshops took place on Nov. 17 and 18, with debate centering on case studies.
