KOHI Successfully Concluded Community Healthcare Development Program;Vietnam

J Yook]Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare, KOHI(President, Lee Sangyong) successfully concluded ‘Community Healthcare Development Program;Vietnam’which was scheduled from 4th, April to 21th. 15 trainees from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, and community healthcare institutions, participated in the 4th course this year.

Quality lecturers from major healthcare institutes including the Ministry of Health and Welfare(MW) and Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) introduced Korea‘s successful healthcare cases, systems, the national insurance system and disease control methods. Professors in the fields also participated in the workshops where trainees themselves mulled over the problems of the Vietnamese healthcare systems and sought solutions. The trainees also visited Seoul National University Hospital and public health centers to experience the Korea’s system. Korean-Vietnamese interpretation was provided throughout the course to improve efficiency of the lectures.

The trainees expressed their satisfactions over the course, and said they would contribute to the development of the Vietnamese healthcare system based on knowledge and experiences earned in the course. They emphasized that visiting Yangju public health center and Seoul National University Hospital to experience Korea's community healthcare projects was of a big help.

“I will reflect Korea's healthcare projects into Vietnamese one after going back to Vietnam.” said Lai Bin , senior officer of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Health. “The contents of the programs were exactly what we need for improvement of the systems." he added.

“Korea‘s community healthcare cases are applicable into the Vietnamese ones.”said Mr. Tran Quang Mai, Vice Director of National Center for Health Education. He also said, “I will do my best to improve the Vietnamese community healthcare system by benchmarking Korea’s ones."
