H Kim]Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare, KOHI (President; Lee Sangyong) successfully concluded ‘The Project for Maternal and Child Health Care and Family Planning Capacity Development in Tigray National Regional State, Ethiopia’ cooperated with KOICA and College of Nursing, Seoul National University. 10 health professionals who are in charge of maternal and child healthcare in the community participated in the course from 17th to 19th, September 2012.
The program consisted of 3 modules, healthcare system, maternal and child health promotion, and workshop sessions. Lectures from Korea CDC, the Korean institute of Tuberculosis, and medical schools delivered quality lectures to the participants. Participants also visited Osong Bio-Technopolis including Korea Food and Drug Administration to understand and experience the advanced biomedical science in Korea.
“The program in KOHI was very interesting to me.” Assfaw Yalem Tsegay, a Tigray Health Bureau Deputy Head said. “What I like the most is the study visit to Korea Food and Drug Administration and the lecture about development and permission process of biological product in Korea.” she added.
