[By NBC-1TV E. H Kim]Citibank Korea, Inc. (CEO Ha Yung Ku, www.citibank.co.kr) launches ‘Super Reward Account’ on September 20th to provide card points or better interest depending on the credit card spending amount. If this account is designated as a Citi card settlement account, the customer will receive card points (Citi points) or higher interest for the account balance (maximum KRW 10 million) according to the amount of card purchases.
Customers can choose an interest payment type or a point payment type to receive interest on their account. The point payment type account provides interest rates of up to 6% while interest payment type also offers maximum 5%.
The interest rate bands consist of ‘preferential rate 1’, ‘preferential rate 2’, and ‘super reward rate.’ Customers in the ‘preferential rate 1’ band receive up to annual 3.0% (before tax) regardless of the Citi card settlement amount and those in the ‘preferential rate 2’ band are eligible for maximum 6.0% a year (before tax) depending on the card spending amount. The ‘super reward rate’ is applied to customers over the ‘preferential rate 2’ band and goes up to annual 4.5% (before tax).
