It was a celebration atmosphere with 1500 chapter members' attending.

PTPI(People To People International) is the first non-governmental diplomacy organization which was founded by the President Eisenhower who is a hero in the World War II. In Korea, it has 50 years history since 1965. NBC-1TV covered this event.

An interview of PTPI Korea National Headquarters Chairwoman Gil Youn Kim, Ph.D

It has been two and a half years since I was a president of PTPI Korea headquarters. I feel very happy because I am the president of PTPI Korea in this year when PTPI Korea headquarters reached the 50th anniversary in 50 years history.

We published PTPI Korea 50 Years Book and commemorative stamps as the 50th anniversary commemoration business, and gave them to people today.

The history of 50 years is not that short as an international organization and a social organization.

Meanwhile, 15 people have served as the president of PTPI Korea headquarters. And then I became the first female president of PTPI Korea, so today I'm deeply moved by doing the 50th anniversary and holding this celebration.

Also, many people join us and cheer us. Unlike other organizations, our members pay their membership and there are many members who provide a service. That's because I believe this power and join together so that I can build up this organization as an international organization.

There are PEOPLE TO PEOPLE Chapters in 133 countries. Among them, PTPI Korea headquarters were recognized as the best organization which is the most active in people-to-people history.[이현혜]
