China is the most populous country in the world, and has been rapidly growing in various fields such as the industry, society, and culture, based on its astonishing economic development since the 2000s. More and more Chinese visitors are making their way to Korea, bolstered by the influence of the Korean Wave.

As a result of this influence, the demand for Taekwondo within China has also seen a geometric rise, with over 110,000 citizens currently in possession of Poom or Dan Certificates as of February 2016. This makes China the country with the 3rd highest number of Poom and Dan holders, following Korea and the US.

As such, the Kukkiwon will be providing Chinese website services in earnest starting February 2016 in order to bolster services for Chinese Taekwondo practitioners and revitalize the promotion of Taekwondo. English website services are already available.

The Kukkiwon website, which was opened in 2001, is constantly being upgraded to provide easily accessible information to Taekwondo practitioners. The center also utilizes SNSs in order to solidify communication with online users.
