[By NBC-1TV H. J Yook]GM Korea Company has accelerated its sales network realignment, which began with the launch of the Chevrolet brand in March, with the opening of a new dealership in Samsung-dong in the heart of Seoul on December 1.

“The opening of our first hub showroom where we celebrated the introduction of Chevrolet to Korea will enable us to build a strong brand image that is young and dynamic,” said GM Korea President and CEO Mike Arcamone at yesterday’s opening ceremony. “Thanks to the active participation of our megadealers, we will be able to complete the realignment of our domestic sales network as planned and build a solid foundation for further sales growth.”

Chevrolet Samsung dealership, which is operated by Samwha Motors, is a three-storey building with an area of 604 square meters. Its showroom can accommodate more than 10 vehicles and includes individual sales consultation rooms as well as a luxurious customer lounge that is on par with those in imported luxury brand dealerships. It includes the first Chevrolet Café, which offers a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for customers as they shop for and arrange test drives of Chevrolet products.

“As a result of the remarkable growth we have experienced since Chevrolet’s introduction and our confidence in the brand’s long-term vision, we decided to make our bold investment,” said Samwha Motors Chairman Kim Yeon-ho. “We aim to further expand our sales by improving both the quality and quantity of our services.”

Chevrolet offers convenient one-stop customer care at its 10 hub dealerships. By the end of the year it expects to have completed the upgrade of all 300 of its dealerships, including 90 midsize spoke dealerships.

Samwha Motors, which is one of GM Korea’s five megadealers in the North Seoul region, including four districts in the Gangnam area and North Gyeonggi-do, operates 57 Chevrolet dealerships, including three hub dealerships.
