H Kim]Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare, KOHI (President; Lee Sangyong) successfully concluded ‘Training Program on Performance of National Health Care System in Asia’ cooperated with Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Korea Policy Centre (OECD KOREA) and Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA). Policy makers and experts of the healthcare sectors from 5 countries(China, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, and Vietnam) attended the program from 21nd to 27th, October in 2012.

The main purpose of the program is to share information on each country’s health care system focusing on performance improvement among the participant countries through lectures, debates, and experience exchange on the issues of medical claims review, quality assessment, drug management and relevant policy development. Trainees also discussed its possible application to each participant country’s health care system, taking into account the difference.

“I had brought two questions upon participation in the program. One is how other countries improve their healthcare performance, and the other is how Korea manages its health insurance system. I found the answer to it from the training course, and am ready to dedicate myself to improving healthcare performance of Vietnam” Chu Quoc Thinh, Deputy Director of Drug Price Management Division, Drug Administration of Vietnam said. “I want to recommend this program to my colleagues.” He added.

KOHI runs various programs, including Population and Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health Promotion, and Competency Enhancement of Diagnosis and Treatment of Autistic Spectrum Disorder for Child to promote the world's health.
