(CEO, Geun Sig Cha), Korea’s flagship blood glucose meter manufacturer, was awarded the grand prize for best brand of the “The Best of Consumer, 2012” on October 25, sponsored by the National Brand Committee and researched by Korea Research, in the category of blood glucose meter.

This award is to provide sufficient information to consumers through selecting this year’s best brands that have been chosen by consumers, and its selection is based on consumer awareness and preference, brand loyalty, differentiation, uniqueness and communication and feedback with consumers.

i-SENS, Inc., which was founded in 2000, was equipped with the technology of the blood glucose meter “CareSens” in 2003, which was the first ever in the world that could measure blood glucose within five seconds with a small amount of blood with 0.5㎕; thereby, being granted the award of the Minister of Health and Welfare in 2004. In addition, on top of Wonju plant that can produce one billion strips, construction of second plant in Songdo has been completed for even bigger scale of export as Korea’s flagship blood glucose meter system manufacturing company.

“CareSens” blood glucose meter has been exported to more than 60 countries including US, Europe, and Japan. Not only that, it has maintained its reputation for its outstanding product that can compete with the product of the multinational companies such as Roche, Johnson & Johnson and others.

It achieved high rating in the consumer satisfaction evaluations such as the grand prize for best brand of “The Best of Consumer” for the two consecutive years from last year followed by winning the prize of the ‘Self-monitoring blood glucose meter of the year’ in 2009 by Frost & Sullivan Research, which is the global market research institute.

Released in October, CareSens N POP can use the same strip of CareSens N, which is the representative no-coding product of i-SENS, Inc. It is receiving good responses from the users for its sleek design that resembles MP3 of black color and the brightly luminous LCD screen. It is being evaluated as that the design and ease of use of blood glucose meter, which is the mandatory device for diabetes management, has been upgraded by adding the convenient features such as the increased storage memory, test strips expiration date notification function, hypoglycemia notification, etc. to the accurate performance of the existing product.
