“iPad-DermaVision”, developed by OptoBioMed Co., Ltd., is the diagnostic application for skin experts to analyze skin melanin, erythema, pores, wrinkles, pigmentation and facial size through images taken by the camera of tablet PC; thus, it is the application that can be easily utilized by skin related professionals.

The existing skin diagnostic systems are relatively expensive. However, it is possible to do diagnosis on skins regardless of place and time through the skin analysis application that is effective in diagnosing skins and comparing the before and after using inexpensive tablet PC that can be applied to a variety of skin fields.

Moreover, it is also possible to use the stand for iPad and the LED lighting as an option in order to compare and analyze quantitatively the before and after as an user utilizes tablet PC directly.

This application, released for tablet PC, is the skin diagnostic application for experts; thereby, providing a variety of analysis functions for experts’ consultation for skin to make it possible to compare and analyze the before and after of surgical treatment and do quantitative graph analysis after using cosmetics. As a result, it has the benefits in terms of consultations for skin.

First, if briefly introducing iPad-DermaVision, the skin diagnostic application for experts, the analysis of melanin and erythema informs in percentage and histograms whether the state of skin is normal or abnormal using the 256 colors.

In addition, as for the analysis of the before and after of surgical treatments, the analysis of melanin analyzes dark brown parts of skin such as stains, freckles, spots, dark circle, blemish, etc., the analysis of erythema analyzes red parts of skin such as acne, facial flushing, erythema, and provides the algorithms for skin analysis to compare and analyze quantitatively through graphs.

The analysis of pores counts the number of pores and displays how many of them are reduced upon treatment. The analysis of skin epidermal surface is helpful in treatment since it is able to know fine directions of wrinkles and wrinkled skin. Moreover, it displays in percentage how much wrinkles are reduced upon treatment.

Lastly, the analysis of facial size is able to see the size of facial line and the facial size of the before and after of treatment, and provide quantified numbers.

Thus, iPad-DermaVision application, the skin diagnostic application for experts, has been developed by the underlying technology of DermaVision that is being currently produced at OptoBioMed Co., Ltd.

DermaVision is the skin diagnostic system for hospitals, and it has been installed at more than 330 places such as the dermatology of the general hospitals and the skin clinics in Korea. And it is the product being exported to overseas markets; thus, it is the highly reliable skin diagnostic system for hospitals as being published in the SCI papers more than ten times.
