(OTC:CANV), the world‘s leading hemp-based investment company spearheading the development of cannabidiol (CBD)-rich hemp oils and other hemp industry-related products and services, recently was featured by Fox 5 News in San Diego. Fox 5 reporter Heather Ford’s feature story, “Healing with Hemp,” included U.S. hemp industry pioneer and Vice President of Product Development for CannaVest, Chris Boucher, and integrative physician John Hicks III, MD.

Mr. Boucher is the first to have legally planted a domestic hemp field in America in over forty years at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Research Center in Imperial County, California. 2014 marks the twentieth anniversary of the planting of his hemp field. Mr. Boucher states in the Fox 5 News interview that with the passing of the Agricultural Act of 2014, commonly known as the “Farm Bill,” there will be an “agro-economic explosion.” He goes on to state that, “As the public becomes more educated on hemp, more people are going to want to use it.”

The Fox 5 News story also featured Dr. John Hicks III, MD, who opined that research on CBD demonstrates that it can control ailments ranging from seizures to eczema. Dr. Hicks addressed Heather Ford‘s question about the difference between marijuana and hemp, and explained that hemp-based CBD cannot get anyone “high.” Fox 5 News anchor, Raoul Martinez, states at the end of the “Healing with Hemp” feature, “There’s been a lot of negative connotations [about hemp], and I think we're clearing that up.”
