World Press Briefing became golden opportunity for the media

[By NBC-1TV H. J Yook]The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee (IAGOC) held their World Press Briefing for the 17th Asian Games on April 10.

In attendance at the event that was held at the Songdo Convensia were: Mr. Kim Youngsoo, President of IAGOC; Mr. Hemasiri Fernando, Vice president of the Olympic Council of Asia; Mr. Charles Lo, Chairman of the Media Committee; and around 200 guests from the media and various sports organizations.

The President Mr. Kim Youngsoo, said that the organizers had been preparing hard for six years to welcome some 23,000 athletes, officials and media from Asia’s 45 National Olympic Committees, as well as making the Games a festival for mutual communication, reconciliation and sharing.

The briefing included all aspects of media operations, such as accreditation, accommodation, media services and facilities at the main media and sub press centers, transportation and social media guidelines. This briefing also involved a venue tour of the Asiad main stadium and media village. After the venue tour, there were bilateral and unilateral technical meetings between the IAGOC and the media.

The AGOC is confident that this event has served as an outstanding platform for all media services involved to understand the game's ongoing preparations and preparedness.
