[By NBC-1TV H. J Yook]On September 5th, MEDIANA(President: Gil, Moon-Jong, www.maed.co.kr), the company specialized in medical devices, donated two HeartOn A10(automated defibrillator), upright storage box and four HearOn T10(defibrillator for training) to JSA.
In this donating event, military personnels including the commander of JSA guard and Kim, Gi-Won the director of MEDIANA headquarters participated.
According to a military personnel, the medical room of JSA guard battalion had lack of defibrillator for training while there was not even one automated defibrillator in ‘the House of Freedom’ where visitors stay before going to the meeting room(T2) of the Military Armistice Commission.
Since the overall age of tourists for security field trip is pretty high including the Korean War veterans, we can have emergency situation anytime. In order to cope with it, it is essential to have AED in the right place and right time.
The biggest characteristics of HeartOn A10, the key AED model of MEDIANA include easy use and easy maintenance/management. On top of its simple vocal instruction, its icons for each step and LED light help even beginners to easily provide first aid. If the power is on after attaching the pad to the patient in emergency, it is possible to defibrillate quickly.
Owing to its nice design and excellent performance, currently it gets popular in North Europe.
The commander of JSA guard said “the training of first aid and how to use AED is very essential in the military. Especially, multiple-use facilities and military units are required to have AED.”
