[By NBC-1TV H. Previously responsible for establishing and growing revenue and operations across APAC for Riverbed Technologies, Higgs will lead sales and operations in Asia Pacific for Violin Memory.
“The storage industry is on a tremendous growth path as global companies are rapidly integrating and benefiting from flash memory systems,” said Higgs. “Violin Memory holds a strong presence in the region and my goal is to accelerate the new client base and cultivate current relationships in the APAC market.”
Higgs has more than three decades of experience in the networking industry and has worked exclusively in Asia for 27 years, holding positions in Japan and Singapore. Prior to joining Violin Memory, he served as the Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan at Riverbed Technologies where he increased revenues and accelerated operations across the region for more than eight years. Before that, Higgs built Cisco's sales and operations in South Asia. He also established Cray Communications in Japan in 1988, then Cabletron Systems in Asia in 1992.
“John's proven sales and operations track record over the past 30 years makes him a strong asset to the Violin Memory team as we continue to expand in the region,” said Don Basile, CEO of Violin Memory. “As companies continue to realize and understand the business opportunities presented when implementing flash storage we see a great opportunity to expand our presence in APAC.”
