[By NBC-1TV H. J Yook]Supertex (NASDAQ: SUPX), a recognized leader in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced the MD1823, a high-speed four channel MOSFET driver designed to drive high voltage N- and P-channel MOSFETs for medical ultrasound imaging applications and other applications requiring a high output current for a capacitive load.
The MD1823 features a clock input pin to help realign the input control pins to a master clock signal. This will help minimize delay time errors and clock jitter. A logic input pin, BPS, can be tied high for users not wanting to use the clock realignment feature (if BPS = 1, the clock and registers are ignored). Additionally, MD1823 only uses two input pins for the three level RTZ ultrasound pulser MOSFET gate driver. This feature reduces the FPGA I/O requirement, which simplifies the PCB layout.
“The MD1823 MOSFET driver allows for a much improved discrete ultrasound pulser design,” states Jimes Lei, Director of Applications Engineer for Supertex. “The added clock input will minimize time delay errors and jitter to achieve a sharper image.”
